Random Thought December 10, 2005

Well, it gave me a thought. If this little money is all it took to solve the “third world”’s problems, then what on earth happened to all the billions of dollars that these countries have received in aid from the West — both from private individuals and governments?
If the UNICEF’s currently advocated solution — throwing away more money, often stolen money, at the problem — hasn’t worked for decades, what makes them think that it’s going to work someday? Do they ever think that there might be other ways to go about doing things? [Snickers] Who am I kidding? They don’t even know what the problem is.
Anyway; as a sidenote, maybe now would be as good a time as any to note a great difference between government and private institutions. When these latter render you service and you end up unsatisfied what they usually do is reimburse your money. Today many things come with a “Satisfation Guaranteed” or “Money Back Guarantee” label.
In clear contrast however, when governmental institutions do a job and fail unbelivably badly, it’s always because they were “inadequately funded”. The solution is to always rob tax payers of more money. In fact, it seems that the more shamefully one of their programs fails, the more adamant they are about “more funding”. Social “Security”, anyone?
How interesting life would be if those unconstitutional government services came with a “Money Back Guarantee” label … or maybe not … as the reimbursment funds would always have to be taken from those to be reimbursed.
